i have no idea if theyre valuable or not, but if i would be interested in them if youre willing to sell. i teach 5th grade and my girls love american girl dolls. i think it would be a good independant reading activity.
I have four reading Journals, one for Molly, Felicity, Kirsten, and Samantha. I don't know what they originally were sold with. The covers have a picture of that girl and under the picture it says Reading Journal, My Companion To _______'s Books. Inside there are questions about the six books in the girls' series. Are these valuable? I am thinking of selling them if anyone is interested. Here is a cover picture. Thanks to anyone who knows what this originally went to (I think it may be from one of the Teacher Kits, I'm not sure though).

Do you know what they originially went to?
Yes, they went with the original american girl today dolls from the very first year they started (1996?) and are rare/hard to find.
Thanks! AGT's were introduced in 1995 I believe.

I think these came with the original American Girl Club and Historical Society. I have very similar ones that came in my set, but the cover of yours are different, mine have same maroon marbeling that's on the cover of the entire club set.
I know there were 2 versions of the club, (as there are 2 main handbooks floating around), so yours might have come from the second set. I can check an old catalogue later, if you'd like.
My second guess would be, as mentioned, that they go to the teachers' guides. Those, I think, were white, and therefore these should match them.
The books that came with the original AGTs have nothing to do with the historical dolls, they were 6 blank books in the style of the historical books, that you could write yourself for your doll, "Meet _________," "__________ Learns a Lesson," etc., where you fill in the blank with your doll's name. Each blank book had an accompanied book to help you write the story.
Let me know if I can be of more help. I can take some pictures of the insides of the books I have if it would help you to identify yours.

Then the second year or so AGT came out they shorted it to just Meet _____, of course now the AGTs come with a 'Best Friend Forevers' book. So those 6 books were the 'best Friends Forever' book at the time.Originally posted by AGStefanie:
